INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF ACUPUNCTURE
3 ½ year study program
The study program we offer you is the result of two generations of practitioners who have studied the ancient texts and rediscovered the very roots of Acupuncture, as well as integrated chinese and western medical knowledge. After all, the reasons for pathology in the modern western world are very different from those thousands of years ago in rural china.
The contents of these teachings can not be found in any books and are only taught in a few schools in Holland, Israel, England, and Finland.
In our program you will learn the underlying energetic principles of nature as well as the human body, based on an ancient taoist understanding of the cycles of nature.
This wisdom helps us to understand our patients as individuals on a very deep level. Based on this understanding it is possible to diagnose the specific causes of a patients health problems, whether they are on a physical, emotional, mental or spiritual level.
The Study Program is essentially divided into 3 parts:

YEAR 1
In the first year you will learn how the human being functions in health.
You will receive a detailed understanding of human anatomy and physiology
from the point of view of Chinese medicine. You will also learn the
basics of western anatomy and physiology.
YEAR 2
The second year deals with Pathology.
You will learn what happens when the organism ceases to function in
a healthy way. Again, the teaching includes the chinese medical viewpoint
as well as western medical knowledge. This will prepare you for the
study years 3 & 4.
YEARS 3 & 4
In years 3 & 4 we will cover pathology in detail, based on the western
medical classification of disease. You will learn to treat most diseases
with acupuncture. The schedule includes cell biology, disorders of the
skeletal and muscular system, the respiratory system, skin disorders,
digestive disorders, pathology of the heart and circulatory system,
kidney and urinary tract disorders, brain and nerve disorders, the endocrine
system as well as reproductive disorders and immune disorders.
Apart from the theoretical knowledge there will be a lot of practical instruction, covering every aspect from pulse diagnosis, body diagnosis, tongue diagnosis and point location to Qi Kong and other exercises for developing sensitivity to the bodies energies (and maintaining health).
This study program will give you a solid basis on which to establish yourself as an independent acupuncturist.
